Mass Effect 3’s extended cut DLC hits Xbox Live today and I’m still trying to decide rather or not I give shit. Honestly, I moved on from the Mass Effect series pretty quickly. The raging of “Betrayal!” has long since passed into complete apathy about the future of the Mass Effect franchise and Bioware all together. If Bioware never makes another game I probably wouldn’t feel the bit disappointed about it. I can still play Dragon Age: Origins, Knight of the Old Republic and Mass Effect 1 and remember for what they were, not what they have come to represent recently in the eyes of many gamers.
Who knows, maybe the Extended Cut DLC will turn Mass Effect 3 into video gaming’s answer to Blade Runner. A few careful alterations and the whole thing turns into the nerdgasm of awesome sci-fi. I wouldn’t stake my money on it. But it is a possibility. One thing is for certain, if I go through the game again, it will be on the story mode. I personally felt that the combat in the game got dull and tiring after a while, a problem I also had with Mass Effect 2.
Skyrim is a game I loved for the first fifty hours than slowly grew to dislike it more and more as it went on. I haven’t touched the game in months, maybe all I needed was a break from it for a while. Dawnguard is defiantly interesting enough for at least a look so I’ll probably download both and start with Skyrim first. Games baby, games.
